Ticket info

Directed tickets

Otherworld only happens when everyone in our community contributes their time, energy and art. When you sign up to volunteer, it means you get first access to purchasing your directed ticket(s) to Otherworld.

General tickets

Sparkleponies and lookie-loos can buy tickets for full price a week after volunteers.

Children

Otherworld is an event that is open to all ages and it is a family friendly event. Minors 12 years and under must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. For minors aged 13-18, parents/guardians must know where those children are and what they are doing.

You acknowledge that minors may be exposed to nudity, sexuality, intoxication and other adult situations. There may be areas of the event marked “adults only.” You are responsible to make sure that all minors in your care will comply with and do not enter these areas.

Tickets for all minors will be released as part of the general ticket sale.

Subsidy tickets

KindleArts reserves a limited number of low-income, subsidy tickets to help remove financial barriers to participation for people who could not otherwise afford to come to Otherworld. There is an application process and a waitlist established as this program receives more applicants than it has capacity.

Financial hardship generally includes:

  • people on disability payments
  • people making less than $30,000 annually
  • people on employment insurance
  • full-time students who cannot take full-time jobs
  • people on social assistance

If you can afford a full-price ticket, please purchase one instead of applying.

Logistical info

  • Gates will be announced closer to the event.
  • There are no ins and outs unless previously approved.
  • While furries are welcome at Otherworld, your other pets are not (other than legally recognized guide/service animals).
  • Please leave your other furry/scaled/feathery companions at home.

Location

Otherworld is currently hosted on the traditional, unceded territories of Ts’uuubaa-asatx, at Laketown Ranch near Cowichan Lake, BC, just over an hour north of Victoria.

The site includes over 260 acres of hilly, forested land with lots of room for camping and parking. There will be flush toilets and portapotties throughout, showers in both the upper and lower camping area and decent cell phone service on most of the site.
